Uninstall process is not removing DLLs from system32

Postby rumman » Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:27 pm

Uninstall process is not removing DLLs from system32 folder ($WINSYSDIR$), even though the product is being uninstalled. $WINSYSDIR$ is defined as System->System, by the predefined global variable. In the Uninstall region I have explicit delete commands for each DLL files, with "delete when uninstalling" option.

Please look if the files are removed after a reboot. Some dll and ocx files require a reboot to disappear from the system.

I tried that, too. Did not work. just for experiment, I installed the same files on other folder ($DESKTODIR$) and uninstall deleted them just fine.
