visual studio 2010 crashing after install

Dear Guys,

I have created a test machine with Win 7 ultimate x64, Visual Studio 2010 sp1 and IA 2012, but I am not able to replicate the issue.

I suspect that exist some other things causing a possible conflict, as packages or eventually other possible addin.

The above test machine has been released creating a VM clone of my actual development machine.
So my Visual Studio installation is quite extended in terms of additional components, packages, addins, TFS, WIN SDKs and so on.

I will repeat creating another test machine from scratch, hoping I will be able to replicate it in this way.

I am totally sure that you are experiencing a real issue, but you should provide me any other possible information.
Otherwise it will be very hard to find out what really happens.

If someone of you have the opportunity to create a VM machine that could replicate the issue it will be very appreciated.

I have just created a Win 7 x64 from scratch. I am going to install VS 2010 sp1 and then IA 2012.
I think that I should be able to tell you how is gone very soon.

With my previous test I wan not able to replicate the issue (as with my previous post).

Do you have the possibility to create a VM machine of your system?

Yes, sorry I didn't see the post was over 2 pages.

I will see when I have some spare time, I also want to try and re-install VS SP1 and see if it perhaps repairs the issue.

Dear Derrick,

Then I have installed in the following order:
- VS 2010 sp1 (full install)
- IA 2012 (full install)

I am really not able to reproduce the error.
I suspect that exist something else that causes the issue.

Thanks for your trouble. I trust that you actually cannot re-produce the error on your side.

I will propose another solution to management and perhaps have a machine or VM dedicated to InstallAware.

the state is actually the same, due the fact that we are not able in any way to reproduce the issue.

If you have a look at my previous replies, I also asked if someone could provide us a VM to work on ... but nothing yet.

After unistalling the AI VS plugin then reinstlling VS then re installing the AI plugin agian the crash went away.
