Re: Code signing with SHA-256

Francesco, when using this, do I uncheck the regular authenticode signature then? Where do I find the post-build events? Update. I found the post-build events (under the Project Settings). Another question, the post build events you have deal with the Web version. How would i deal with the Single ve...

Detecting file lock and waiting

Hi, how can I detect if a file is locked and wait until it is unlocked? I have a plug-in that begins the process of unlocking but right now it only works if I naively sleep for about a second. (I'm trying to avoid the restart in uninstall.) In testing, a second is enough time for the lock to release...

Plug-in load files if call is only in Uninstall section

I have a .NET plug-in that works when I make the call early in the MSICode. However, if the plug-in is only in the uninstall section (after REMOVE is true), somehow when it gets to this section InstallAware complains that the plug-in is not present, although it is found in the temporary folder as it...

Re: Build output is in same dir as Add-Remove Icon

Hi, a humble request to support relative paths for Build in Custom Folder - it makes it much cleaner since we source control the IA files

Opening .NET bridge plugin example with VS2013

Hi, I am attempting to write a small IA plugin to do some named pipes work. I am using IA X2 (even though I do have X3). When opening the DesignTime C# Plugin-In solution - I get "...DesignTime C# Plugin-IN\CompileTimeTest\CompileTimeTest.csproj' cannot be opened because its project type (.cspr...

Re: updates are being installed loop

I found the problem. I got carried away and had 8.0.1.657=myapp 8.0.1.657 in my updates.ini and it was going infinite loop on me!

updates are being installed loop

Hi, I have been using the Installaware update feature (Installaware X2). On a recent update I now have "the updates are being installed" popping up over and over again in an infinite loop. What causes this? What am I missing?

Re: Adding "Web" or "Single" to output filename

Ok, it looks like BUILDMODE: CD if the deployment type is Uncompressed Directory Layout, SFX if the deployment type is Compressed Single Self-Installing EXE, WEB if the deployment type is Compressed Web-Based EXE, PATCH if a patch is being built. In all CAPS. I have X3, but am still running X2 for t...

Can you give more light to the second option? I'll try BUILDMODE in the meantime

Re: Effect of checking/unchecking dialogs

I cheated by adding a variable called CLEAN which when False I display the dialog. However still interested in the answer to the question.

Effect of checking/unchecking dialogs

Usually when I start a new project, I go ahead and uncheck the dialogs I don't want and everything works the way it should. Today I was working on moving out sections of the MSIcode into separate scripts and after doing so, all the dialogs I didn't want now appear. How does InstallAware track the ch...

Adding "Web" or "Single" to output filename

Hi, is there a way to detect what mode that we are building in? Ideally I would like to add _complete.exe to the Single output and _web to the Web output. For example, for myinstaller.exe - I would get myinstaller_complete.exe and myinstaller_web.exe.
