SQL LocalDB Support

I see the post and email regarding 2012 Express, but I don't see anything about the far superior and easier to install for Devs, LocalDB. Is it supported? If not, when? Should be able to specify instance, filestreaming enabled and what level, sql/integrated security and default sa password if sql se...

Re: Installer with X64 and x86 in one

It's really simple: 1. There is no case where I don't want x86 and x64 versions of pre-reqs. There couldn't possibly be case where that would be desirable, because even if my app is x86 only, most of the pre-reqs require you to install the proper version on the machine regardless of the app that is ...

Hybred Install - Deterministically Install SQL Server

Now that you have hybred install functionality, that doesn't use Windows Installer, I would love to create a single installer that asks: Stand Alone Remote Demo Network Network doesn't need SQL Server and shouldn't download it or install it. And in the other three if chosen it should then download a...

Re: Slow to copy files from C:\Program Files (x86)\DevExpres

DevExpress has their normal release cycle and then they also offer patches for bugs found between releases.
If you install the normal release cycle installers and then compile an installer using install aware on ANY hard drive it is slow. Uninstall that and use an interim build and it works fine.

Re: Whatever you do, don't copy an installer...

Well let's put it this way:
I edited an SQL Script in the designer and it edited it for the original one too.

Re: Slow to copy files from C:\Program Files (x86)\DevExpres

It appears to be some setting on their normal isntallers that causes your app to run slowly copying the files. If you use one of their beta installers it's fine. But it's very reproducable with the public installer of Dev Express Controls.

Whatever you do, don't copy an installer...

Whatever you do don't copy an installer to another directory and then try editing sql scripts etc.... they'll still point to the absolute path of the original one instead of being a relative path!!!! ARGH I just lost tons of work because of this bug. I need to find an SQL script in a compiled instal...

I was being super specific but it appears to happen at all times.

As of this morning though it's not doing it.

Re: delete folder function, only possible with vb-script ?

There should be a script command for this. I know that Windows Installer does it, it's not hard there, so this is just an oversight! Please add this feature!

Re: Slow to copy files from C:\Program Files (x86)\DevExpres

Basically on build of the setup any file in Program files(x86) on an x64 machine copies super slowly. All other files in other directories is fast. Should be pretty easy to repro.

Slow to copy files from C:\Program Files (x86)\DevExpress 20

It's really slow and it's on an SSD. Files on another drive or my documents copy fast. Happens on cd or dvd or web deploy etc.

Re: Installer with X64 and x86 in one

Please do take it as a feature request. The way it is right now is a pain in the butt and causes all kinds of frustrations when you try and hack it. It also needs to know how to uninstall these properly on uninstall of the app. Right now you can have all kinds of issues if you're not really careful ...
