Hi all,
I configured IA to use our Team Foundation Server as the source control provider, when I tried the first check in, I got the following error message:

Index was outside the bounds of the array.

then follow by this message:

Unable to check-in project to your Team Foundation Server!
Team Foundation Server failed.

Before all this, to connect to my TFS, I had to create a workspace with the same name of my computer name and mapped the source control folder to the local folder where my IA .MPR files are.
Source Control Folder: $/InstallAware Projects/TBR Utility
Local Folder: e:\visual studio 2008 projects\strataframe\thombiller projects\ia projects\TBR Utility Setup\TBR Utility

I am using TFS 2015 (Update 3).

What may be going on here?

One more note, this is the first time I try using IA with TFS.

I use TFS with all my Visual Studio Projects daily.

I am testing InstallAware X5 and get the same error message when I try to check in a newly added project. I am using the online TFS on visualstudio.com

Honestly, I don't see any issue.

How did you add your IA project to TFS the very first time?


Please note that the TFS team project must already exist (this is usually created via Team Explorer) then the IA project must be added from IA IDE.

The TFS project exist and I used that exact option you highligth. Then followed by a checkin and then I get the error.

I now tried several different ways to add the project with no luck sofar. The help in IA is not much help.

Is there a step by step guide how to from the point of creating a new solution in Visual Studio 2015U3 to checkin in TFS.

to recap;

1- your TFS team project already exists and this has been created using TFS Team Explorer. This "TFS team project" didn't contain any copy of your IA project yet.

2- from IA IDE and once loaded your IA project, you used "connect To Server" to select the "TFS team project" where to add your "IA project".

3- Finally, you selected "Add Project" and then "Check-In".

The TFS project was created by Visual Studio when I added my solution to TFS. Then step 2 and 3.

for test purpose;

Can you try to add to your TFS Team Project a new "dummy" project created from scratch?
You may use the basic template ...you don't need to define any setup property or to add any setup file. Just create the new IA project and then try to add it as it is to TFS.
