Dell SonicWall causes installation to freeze/fail

I've run into a weird situation and I am looking for guidance.
I have the option: Automatic updates (every time setup is run) checked.
So when my installer is run, it goes out to check for the latest version.
However, there is a firewall program called SonicWALL that will block this request. It thinks it is a Trojan (and I can't find anyway to tell Dell that it isn't).
When it blocks this request, It causes the installation to crash.
If I have the client turn off the internet, then my software will install properly.
My software is digitally signed and it is released as a single .EXE
On the MSICode tab, there is an updates tab, but I am unable to determine if there is a way to add an error trap so that if the update request is blocked then it just continues with the regular installation.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
