I have a problem resulting (I believe) from the changes in X6 to support Restart Manager in the uninstall process.

We have an update management executable installed with our product that is launched from within our product and manages the download and application of updates. However, as of IA X6, this application is being forced to close during the uninstall process where prior to this version it would remain active while the components (including this management EXE) are uninstalled.

Long term, we can probably re-engineer the update management process to work around this, however, short-term, I was wondering if it's possible to suppress this functionality during the uninstall or to exclude certain resources from the Restart Manager process?

Dear Aron,

when using the Windows Installer engine, the Restart Manager is invoked automatically by Windows Installer and it cannot be suppressed.
This differs with the the Native Engine, which does not automatically invoke the Restart Manager.
