Icons for full branding

Postby Nhamzei » Tue Feb 19, 2019 2:41 pm

I just updated to Installaware 9 and I am having some icon issues. These issues did not exist in last version. I think on import they were lost.
We only have one Icon that we use and I did import and assign it. It is named icon.ico I also have a installAware.png of this icon added to Creatives.

My issue is I still have Installaware Icons that I want rebranded with our icon.

I have included images

1. In Windows Explorer, it shows our program with InstallAware Icon.
2. In Windows UAC popup, it shows InstallAware icon but all of our info
3. In Installer package verification, again it shows the wrong icon
4. The next window used to show the Installaware icon, but after using installAware.png in Creative, this starts with InstallAware icon and then becomes our icon. I could not take a screen capture of this screen as it disappears too quickly.

I do have our icon in the project and also as a png (installAware.png) but still having issues with these dialogs

I'm not certain but I think that as IA installs into a new directory each time, hence when you upgrade you need to re-edit your settings/screens.

yes and that was done. There are no listed dialog boxes in the User Interface --> Dialog section that match these dialogs. I think they must be internal but I am not sure

You are correct. The icons you mention are in a different location.

In IA Help, search Change Setup Icon.

this is the content of IA Help --> Search "Change Setup Icon"
Change Setup Icon

You may customize the default setup icon that is used in several places throughout your setup:

Setup self extraction progress window
Setup self extractor program
Main setup program
Setup dialogs system menu
Taskbar program button
Add-Remove Programs applet
To customize the setup icon

In the Project Options dialog (SHIFT+CTRL+F11), select the Add-Remove node beneath the Project node.
Click the Load Icon button and choose your custom icon.
To revert to the default icon

Remove the file icon.ico from your list of support files.

I did all of this prior to doing the first build. That's why this is an issue.

I'm not certain but did you do this again after you upgraded to IA9 and have you included your icon in your support directory?
I'm running out of suggestions
