Hello,
I started to work with some existing installer project. For internal reasons I need to find out with which version of InstallAware it was created. Is it possible to find this information inside the project files?
Thank you in advance.
How to find the version of InstallAware with which the project was created?

No, the project file doesn't include any information about the IA version used to generate the file.

Thank you for the answer. Could you, please, also tell, if there format is changing from one version of InstallAware to the other? And mostly important, are the projects backward compatible. I.e. if I create the project with the latest version of IA, will it be possible to work with this project using IA from year 2012?
Thank you.

!This is not recommended at all!
Projects cannot be backward compatible and this for many reasons. Honestly, I don't see the convenience of creating a project in X11 and then to build the same using a earlier version. Here the main problem is not the project files, but the scripts. These may use commands or statements which was not allowed or not available in previous versions, and then not less important, the different build engine versions.
last but not least, old IA versions didn't include UNICODE support. Once upgrade the project, this cannot be shared between ANSI and UNICODE versions of the tool.
Hope this helps you.
