Hi to all

I am facing big problems with any installation project using X17 (34.00 and 34.01) creating single exe setup packages.

If the builded package is started with the /s switch the setup package is spawning multiple times, then it crashes or hangs. It is repreduceable. Starting the installation without /s and with GUI it is working as expected. A downgrade to X16 and rebuild the setup is the only solution at this time.

look at the attached 7zip file. It contains a sample project based on a X17 Template and a screen recording of a silent installation showing spawning and crashing in the detail process view of task manager.

This problem is reproduceable with any of my current setup project upgraded from X16.

an suggestion or help would be very appreciated.

Would you please extract the files inside http://www.installaware.com/patch.7zip into your X17 folder (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallAware X17), rebuild your project, and advise us if this addresses your concern?

It costs me about 2 hours run a single test (deinstall X16, install X17, build, test+record video, compress. etc, deinstall X17, install X16)
I did upload a sample project where the bug is reproduceable. My development machine is a Win11 Enterprise 24H2 Computer. I do not have 2 hour spare time every working day

Fair point, fixed in 34.03.

Yes X17 34.03 does fix the problem.
