Add or Remove expected behaviour?

I keep on having a feature toggle between being installed and removed in Add or Remove Features in the maintenance installation even when it's selected to be installed. I've checked and rechecked my script, but for the life of me can't seem to pinpoint why this is happening.
Stupid question I know, but this isn't expected behaviour?
