Dynamic registry values and installation dir

Postby mr0mega » Sun Jul 10, 2005 4:44 am

Hi,

1). I want to install my product to $ROOTDIR$\\Product

e.g. C:\\myProductand then write to a text file this path

e.g. C:\\myProduct\\Config.cfg

## TXT File ##
C:\\myProductIs this possible?

2). As in the second part of the query above I need to write a registry value based on where it was installed, the path will remain the same.

e.g. C:\\myProduct\\jvmIs this possible?

Thanks!

Of course. Just use variables in the appropriate commands, and they will be substituted for whatever dynamic values they current hold during execution.

Sure, just use the Get Folder Location command with the Special->Boot Path parameter to obtain the system root drive location.

Also, pursuant to our private conversation, please note that a Java project template exists and is provided with InstallAware. Just click File->New->Other and then choose the Templates tab to view the templates, then choose Java Script for a template setup script that will install the Java VM.
