*.bin Files Corrupt

I'm a new user of IA Developer 6.5 working on my first "real" install. My application includes a bunch of sample files in both .xml and .bin (binary) format. It's a .NET 2.0 app if that makes any difference.

I created a single-file installer and copied it to a "Win XP SP2 Fresh Install" VMWare virtual machine. The install went fine, and all the .XML files are perfect. However, every single .bin file is a different length from the original, and all the bytes in each file are different too.

I haven't found anything in the help file or searching the forums that seems to apply.

Help Please!

Thanks.

I'm able to work-around this by setting Build Type to "Uncompressed Directory Layout." This gets me through the immediate deadline, but I'd sure like a single .exe installer.

Thanks.

Did you try different compression strengths, to see if they resolve the issue? Or do all the different compression strengths exhibit the same problem?

Before your reply I didn't even know there were compression levels, just getting started with IA. With compression midway everything seem to work fine. Thanks.

The jump from 21 MB to 26 MB is significant. Has this been duplicated? Do you want my *.bin files?

Nope, you're the first one to run across this sort of a thing before :)

Yes, please do go ahead and send the files.

Oh, if they are large, you can upload them somewhere and PM me the URL, btw. Otherwise just email support.

To bring this to a close, I can't duplicate the problem anymore. Long ago I deleted the installer and VM that had the problem. No problems with the compression set its highest.

No problems with ASM compiled .bin's here with full strength compression.
