I notice when I build our installer with the .NET 2.0 Framework requirement - there doesn't seem to be the ability to generate the 64-bit .NET Application Runtime.
Hence, when you attempt to install our product on a 64-bit box ... the installer dutifully goes and downloads the 32-bit 7zip application runtime and then dies a hideous death when the IA generated runtime fails to install.
How can I work around this - specifically:
- force 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the .NET 2.0 framework
- inside the installer remove the external web component dependency
64-bit .NET Application Runtime?
I don't think there is any ability to do it in IA6.6.
I've just check the OS (ie. x86 or x64) then test to see whether the .NET runtime is installed. If it isn't I just throw up an error message and bail out.

I am going to have the same issue soon I can see that item coming closer in our bug tracker
I had though that it switched automatically based on the 64bit option but obviously you reporting this means it mustn't be :S
I did notice as well the Check/Install .NET Frame work msi code dosn't have options for 64bit frameworks
