Add own template

Is it possible to add new templates to InstallAware, so that they appear on the "Templates" tab in the "New project" dialog?

I've tried to do the following, but it doesn't work:

1. Create a new project with the name "xyz".
2. Create a new folder "xyz" in the templates directory of InstallAware.
(C:\\Program Files\\InstallAware\\InstallAware 7\\Templates\\xyz)
3. Copy the project files of "xyz" to the above folder.

I hoped that it would work nearly the same as adding a new dialog templates. Ok, for the dialog templates you also have to add the "ad.bmp" and the "xyz.txt" file. But after that the new dialogs appear. Do I have to add similar files to a new template?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Sven

The templates that are hooked up to IA are constants, you cannot add new templates.

Oh, I'm really suprised to hear that. Maybe this is a feature you should think about in the future, since adding templates is nothing unusual and can be of great help, when trying to standardize things.

But thanks anyway for your answer.

Best regards, Sven

The way I have accomplished this is to create a project that has all my defaults in it.

When I need to create a new project I copy the project created above and save it to a new directory then open it, change the script file location, rename it and go.
