In the free version of Windows Installer, an msi is built and installed. If any component in the install is moved or renamed, the installer is invoked to replace the component. On the one hand this can be quite annoying, however, I have need of this behaviour for several key files. Can this be done in IA Express?

There is a "File is Vital for Installation" check-box on the Install Files command, which is accessible whenever you double-click an item in the Target Files listing in the Files view. You can try checking that...
