I am using IA9 (build Moya.sp1.070409) with no upgrade from a previous version.
Our multiple instances project is installing fine on a number of Windows Server 2008 systems without problems; however, on one customer's Windows Server 2008 system the initial installation worked fine but later installing another instance the installation dialogs displayed the internal script variables (e.g. $TITLE$, $USERNAME$, etc) rather than their actual values. The customer reports that the problem went away after a new patch was installed and he then created several additional instances successfully. After a recent patch the problem has re-appeared and the existing installations appear to be broken in so far as selecting the 'Change' option under Control Panel always bring up the uninstall dialog, and selecting the 'Uninstall' option does nothing.
After manually removing the product and all instances then attempting a new installation the variables names are still shown rather than their values. I have built new install media and also tried archived media that previously worked, and all fail in the same way. However, all these variants that were tried and failed work fine on other machines.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
