Error in Dialog preview/customization

Hi there!
Whenever I try to choose a dialog in the "dialog sequence" list, an error occurs which says (on my system in german): There's not enough memory available for this command.
Now that's weird, I got 4GB RAM an have no other (big) applications running. There's also enough space on the harddisk.
Is there a known bug or configuration problem? Changing the theme doesn't solve the problem....
