I have a MHT file that is included as a support file. When one of the installation dialogs returns the MHT file may be launched using:
Run Program $SUPPORTDIR$\\$PrinterPrefix$_IP.mht
where the $PrinterPrefix$_IP.mht file is in the support files (for instance "yourprinter_ip.mht"). The problem we are seeing is that if the user progress quickly through the setup dialogs and causes that file to be launched the IE 8 instance seems to hang with "Connecting" status. This is under Windows XP or Vista 64-bit. I have tested on XP 32-bit (IE v.6) and can not duplicate the issue. In all cases the temporary file does exist. I checked the file associations and all is ok there.
When the user progresses slowly through the setup dialogs prior to that point the MHT / IE launches fine.
Is there a caching issue that can be worked around to make sure the file launches correctly?
