Wow, we weren't expecting that one before May!

We're on it. From what R&D says should be as simple as replacing the existing binaries with the new ones, but we'll publish fully validated updates here for your convenience :D

And now, we announce for your convenience, yet another same-day delivery :D

SQL Server Express 2008 R2 (final version):

http://www.installaware.com/rup2010/sql ... 0bits.7zip - 32 bit
http://www.installaware.com/rup2010/sql ... 0bits.7zip - 64 bit

Enjoy! I am also updating my own custom installer to include this RTM build as part of it, instead of the November CTP.

The runtime installers have also been updated now, same links as earlier in the text.

This thread is getting very confusing.

Can we have:
1. One item at the top that gets updated with the latest links.
2. A single exe installer that installs all of these as an addon to an existing install.
3. An updated installer that includes these in it for new installs.

Thanks!

All the links in the text are still valid and have been updated with the latest files where applicable.

You can use the links to download the individual components, or you can use the installers which will install them all for you.

For your convenience, I have again provided the URLs to the installers:

http://www.installaware.com/rup2010/ins ... 202010.exe - monolithic, contains everything
Size: A little over 400 MB

http://www.installaware.com/rup2010/ins ... %20web.exe - web deployed, downloads everything
Size: A little over 1 MB

So if you know exactly what you want, you can download the web installer and let it grab the files for you; if you want everything, grab the single file installer.

The single installer says that it's corrupt. I've downloaded it several times.

I"m also getting sql server 2008 r2 telling me that it needs to install the x64 version on and x86 machine, even though it's only running the x86 check script.

Also regarding SQL EXPRESS R2, it's not popping up the SQL Server options for in APplication Runtimes configuration like 2008 does.

I tested the single install on the server, it launches just fine. You may want to download using a reliable download accelerator/resume capable utility.

Note that R&D has finished in-lining these changes and will be releasing InstallAware 9 R2, containing these runtimes, our new Visual Studio 2010 Add-In, and a few enhancements (such as the download timeout issue) pretty soon. 9 R2 will be a free update for all InstallAware 9 users.

About SQL Express R2, I do get the configuration option, so not sure what your problem is with that one.

Here is a stand-alone installer for the InstallAware 9 R2 Visual Studio 2010 Add-In:

http://www.installaware.com/rup2010/vs2010addin.exe

Enjoy! You should be able to install this on top of an existing InstallAware 9 installation to fully utilize the new Visual Studio 2010 Add-In, again this will be an in-lined part of the InstallAware 9 R2 release.

We now have some release candidate builds uploaded for InstallAware 9 R2:

http://www.installaware.com/Moya-Protected-R2/myahe.exe - single file, 1.47 GB
http://www.installaware.com/Moya-Protec ... he_web.exe - web build, 12.9 MB - 1.53 GB

Same password as the current version.

A short list of new features in this release:

- Built-in runtimes for the entire .NET Framework 4 eco-system, also including secure Visual Studio runtimes (2003/2005/2008) and MySQL runtimes
- Visual Studio 2010 Add-In
- InstallShield importer (now part of the IDE in GUI form, creating ready-to-build projects)

A short list of enhancements in this release:

- An implicit "offline" web media block declaration at line 0 to help n00bs
- Translations updated with customer feedback
- Ability to obtain the local application data folder now built-in into the Get Folder Location command
- Automatic restoration of the download timeout value to its previous value after a download is completed
- Get System Settings now has a built-in value for detecting Server 2008 R2
- #NOHARDLINKS# now evaluates to TRUE unless overridden to help n00bs
- Version keys recorded under both the {GUID} and $TITLE$ areas to make the Win7 logo kit happy
- Create Shortcut now offers an AppID property for the Windows 7 taskbar
- MS SQL Server plug-in now uses port 1433 by default (overridable)

And a short list of fixed bugs:

- Windows 7 "not implemented" error is now fixed when the taskbar is not showing (ex: after a Reboot and Resume statement)
- Automation library fixes (especially those affecting Visual Studio Add-Ins)
- IDE glass display fixes (especially on Windows 7)
- Various other minor fixes

This is a free update for all InstallAware 9 users, but please note that the online license account is NOT vending InstallAware 9 R2 releases yet. This will happen sometime within the next couple weeks, so ensure you do not destroy your existing production environment in the meanwhile.

Thanks for the R2 release! I'm looking forward to it!

Also, regarding SQL EXPRESS 2008 R2, I get _A_ configuration window that I can put the command line in, but not the same one as when you check 2008 w/ SP1 where you set options and it generates the command line for you...

Why not download R2 and check it out - the links are live :)

As for the options issue, we have actually abandoned the old approach and are now using the new approach instead (the one you have already seen).
