MYDOCUMENTS on Windows 7 running as a standard user

Postby cancelor » Sun Jun 06, 2010 3:22 pm

Hello, I have my setup running on Windows 7 (UAC with AlwaysElevate setting) as a standard user (not as an administrator). It works fine, but when I run Get Folder Location MY->MYDOCUMENTS, the resulting path points to the administrator's document folder.

How can I access My Documents for the user that is running the setup?

Thanks in advance!

It is probably because of the elevation that you are getting the administrator folder.

I guess you too. Do you think there is no way to access the MYDOCUMENTS folder when running with elevated rights? Would really be a pity!

Thanks!

You could actually do this -

Launch non-elevated setup stub; this just writes some variables to a file in $TEMP$...

Then launch the elevated actual setup from the stub!
