SQL Server Express 2008 R2

Postby dencolp » Thu Jun 10, 2010 11:31 am

Hi InstallAware Gurus,

Thank you in advance for your help.

I installed InstallAware 9 earlier this year. In the "Application Runtimes" screen I have the option to add "Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 with Service Pack 1". But I want to install SQL Server Express 2008 R2. How can I get the InstallAware runtime for SQL Server Express 2008 R2?

Thanks for your response,
Dencolp.

Hi,

I'm affraid you have to download and install IA9R2. It's free of charge if you have licence for IA9.

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed the IA9R2 but still the "SQL Server Express 2008 R2" entry doesn't appear in the Application Runtimes list.
Is there anything else I have to do?
Thanks,
Emmanouel

You probably did a minimum or custom install that excluded the runtime. Add more features by running setup again.

Hi,
There wasn't any such minimum or custom installations choices, only the Copyright notice appeared.
If I run it again, as you suggest, a message appears asking me if I want to uninstall the selected application.
I'm referring to the "InstallAware9R2RuntimesUpdate.exe" program that I used.
Thanks,
Emmanouel

Oh - my instructions pertained to the InstallAware 9 R2 setup itself.

If you have a version 9 license, 9 R2 is a free upgrade for you, so you should install that instead.
