Reasons a web media block might fail?

Postby matthewj » Thu Jan 20, 2005 12:04 pm

Could you tell me any reasons why a web media block may fail to download please? I am getting a "Retry download" dialog, which implies that it failed to get anything when downloaded. The URL in the install file does work from Internet Explorer though. I've just tried as admin and it makes no difference.

I figure I must have missed something here. :?

Try to delete the MimarSinan\\Installation Information folder belonging to your app.

Where would I find that directory? There's not one on my dev machine with the MPR file, and the target is a fresh install of Win2000 in VMWare that I keep resetting after a test.

If you keep resetting the VMware, its unlikely that might be the cause. At any rate, its worth a shot. The folder will be under:

C:\\Docs&Settings\\AllUsers or UserName [depending on install type]\\App Data\\MimarSinan....

I'm really not sure why you'd have any problems at all on a clean machine. We do most of our testing inside VMware ourselves and haven't run into any issues with web media blocks.

I'd ask for your project again
