Windows 98 installation problems

Hi,

I am having two problems installing on Windows 98.

1) We have around 10,000 laptops that need updating to Windows Installer 2.0. However when it is installed it always returns the code ERROR. The user is then told that they must use window update. However a reboot in every test case we have run has proved that it is installed OK. Is it possible that InstallAware is returning the wrong code on Windows 98?

2) The treeview is displayed corrupt as show in attachment. When you you click to choose if the feature will be installed or not, the pictures in the popup menu are also corrupt. This happens on compressed or uncompressed outputs.

Hi Ade,

Please place the attached updated script in your runtimes folder (typically C:\\Program Files\\InstallAware Studio Admin 5\\runtimes). It will take care of the erroneous error report on Win9X platforms. Thank you for catching this issue.

As for the second issue, it seems to be a graphics card problem to me. The images are 16 color only and display correctly in all platforms - I just tried here with a Win98 Gold machine myself.

Just would like to say 'Thanks for the fast turn around of this issue!'

Adrian.

PS Sorry for my delay in posting, we have been testing!

As Candice might say: "If you're satisfied, help us spread the word, if you don't like something, help us improve it!" :)
