Initial dialog displays without any text

Postby sberkovskiy » Wed Nov 24, 2010 7:31 am

Hi,

I'm using install aware 9 R2. I have the problem, that the initial dialog "The InstallAware Wizard is verifying the contents of this setup package. This may take a moment." displays without any text. Shared strings is ok. The project property "Default Language" is set to "English". Other forms displays normal. Localization works properly.

I tried to create new test projects, using templates without modification. The result is the same.

Building on XP sp3 pro English, but display language and the locale is Russian.

Can someone please help with this?

Are you building and testing on the same machine?

I haven't reproduced this. I think I don't have my environment set up the same as yours.
I've tried using IA10, IA9R2 building in Win7 and the XP I'm trying to reproduce this with Russian display...

As far as reproducing this, this is what I've done in terms of creating the project:

Create new project. Use basic template.
Under design tab, click Localize.
Export strings.
Translate. Choose all languages.
Import. Choose English and Russian.
In Project Settings, check language selector and have default language = English
(it wasn't clear if you choose the language selector or not, it didn't really affect the outcome of my trials)

(optional, add runtimes to make load longer)
Build single file exe.
Run exe.

My results (language selector if checked):

At this time, it's a matter of figuring out what environment setting you have that causes this.
