I'm running IA10 and have a line to install a strongly named .NET 32-bit assembly to the GAC. This line for this file worked fine in IA9. In IA10, I get "Error during build: Unable to get assembly information for..."
I've looked at some of the older posts which suggest that for 3rd party assemblies, they have to be in the GAC. Well, on my machine where the error is occurring, it is:
The Global Assembly Cache contains the following assemblies:
ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib, Version=0.86.0.518, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a2f976f5ad4d4293, processorArchitecture=MSIL
The only thing that has changed is IA9 to IA10. What can I do to correct this behavior (other than not installing to the GAC).

Dear nkoszyk,
Which assembly are you trying to use here? Could you send it over to us to support at installaware.com?
Thanks

Re: Unable to get assembly information...
I've sent the assembly to support.
Important note that apparently bears repeating: This assembly loads fine in IA9. It's IA10 that is now not reading the assembly info--and I tried it in a clean Windows 7 virtual machine with the same results.
Having wasted a half day on this issue, I am now going to uninstall IA10 and go back to IA9 so I can get my work done.

Dear nkoszyk,
I apologize, but I again received an empty email from you - could you maybe send it from a different mail box?

Re: Unable to get assembly information...
Dear nkoszyk,
As I responded to a different user that experienced the same problems as you did, I have tested your assemblies on a clean Windows 7 with InstallAware 10.10 and experienced no such problems.
My guess is that you both had a faulty installation of InstallAware. Please reinstall InstallAware and let me know if that helped - again, I did not experience the problem that you did with the assembly you attached here.

Re: Unable to get assembly information...
Hi,
I had the same issue when I installed 10.3. The trial download worked fine but the assembly information issue appeared after I ran the license executable from 10.0. I resolved the problem by uninstalling completely and reinstalling the trial followed by generating a new license file and then applying that, after which all was OK again.
I don't know what the license executable does in detail but presume that it patches the trial to make it behave like a licensed version. I've seen elsewhere the advice (mandate I think!) that the license file must be re-created after every trial download. I presume that this is because the license executable is tailored to the current version of InstallAware at the time it is generated.
If this is the case, would it be possible to add a warning when a license executable is used on a version of InstallAware other than the one for which it was created?
Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, I'm just putting 2 and 2 together based on customer experiences and the advice given, hopefully I've made 4 and not 17
Regards, Peter
