Avoiding a newer version to be overwritten by an older one

Postby pokr2 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 8:01 pm

Hi,

Is there any predefined way in InstallAware to avoid an installed newer version of an application to be overwritten by an older one by means of running an older version of the product installer?
Some posts suggest that there is not (you have to build the mechanism yourself), but those posts are quite old...

Thanks, regards,

Octavio

Dear Octavio,,

Regrettably, that is true. Unless you have control over the setup authoring and build process there is no way to do that.
