Calculating Disk Space

Is it possible for the installer to correctly state the disk cost (required space) when using Web Media Blocks becuase the files are cached locally and not included in the calculations?

Dear Jim

This is presently not supported. The problem is that web media blocks can be downloaded for other things than the product being installed at time of install, such as installing runtime packages. Since this depends on how the script is going to flow at runtime, it is not easy to come up with an easy way to estimate total disk cost using weblocks.

Any ideas are welcome!

In the interim you may use the Set Component Space function as a workaround.

To improve upon what already exists maybe an item like "Estimated Disk Cache Space" and at least double the Total Space Required because the files will be cached locally. This should work better because I don't believe the current "Total Required Space" item takes into consideration the run times anyway.
