Language selection for .Net

I noticed that if you go to the Microsoft website to download the .Net framework you have the ability to select from a number of different languages.

I have a feeling that when you select the .Net from the prerequisites list on IA you are selecting the English version.

My question is, what happens if someone in China for example installs our application and as a consequence the .Net installed is the English version? Does it matters? I know it works because we had people in Mexico installing our app and it works but I am not sure what the hidden consequences are.

Thank you.

We are not aware of any adverse affects - you may safely install on any language system.

Hi,

the core .NET Framework is always in English and works on all supported plattforms. If you would like to get localized error messages simply add a language pack:

Language Pack for .NET Framework 1.1

Language Pack for .NET Framework 2.0
