Hi Team from Installaware,

I'd like to know which of the following products are you going to support (all are currently CTP and all are free);

- SQL Server 2005 Express with SP1
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Toolkit
- SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express

For me, it would be enough to include Express with Advanced Services, because it cotains the rest.

Keep up the good work!

As soon as they RTM, they'll be supported. Most likely the premium edition will be supported, so the others are contained within and can be toggled on/off.

The previous post indicated that a runtime installer would be available for SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services when it was release by MS -- is this available for InstallAware yet?

If so, where and how do I get it?

If not, what is the estimated timeline?

SP1 was supported shortly after release, as promised. I understand the remainder are available from Microsoft as stand-alone MSI files which you may add to your setup and install using the (Un)Install MSI Setup command. Be sure to pre-process them first with the Setup Decompressor, so you gain maximum compression benefits when building your final InstallAware package.

Searching on Microsoft's site I can only find SQLEXPR_ADV.EXE (no MSIs)...

Is there not a plan by InstallAware to offer a runtime for the Advanced Services version? It seems that several people on the forums have expressed a need for this and it would definitly make installing the Advanced Services easier (no rocket science needed).

Actually, if you run the EXE, it expands into the main SP1 setup, along with the supporting MSI files as I described above for the other advanced features.
