custom avi format?

I'm trying to use the animate control and use an avi file we've made.
I added the avi as a support file but when I try to enter our avi as the file for the animate control I get: Invalid Property value.
Any ideas why? Are only certain avi formats supported?

Did you remember to change the CommonAVI property to aviNone?
Then change the FileName property?

yes. As a test, if I use the gray.avi (which I also have as a support file) as the filename it accepts it fine. Which is leading me to believe that there is something with the format that the control doesn't like.

Hmmm, don't know where to go from here I have 2 other AVI's that I use in my packages that are not distributed with IA .

Thanks Jim,
The avi we're having problems with has properties of:
Frame rate: 7 frames/sec
Data rate: 54kbps
Video sample size: 16 bit
Video compression: MS-CRAM
We were able to change the first two but unfortunately don't have any software here to make avi files in different formats for the last 2.
Are you aware of a utility that can easily make avi files, preferrably freeware?

You may want to try

Also try copying the AVI file to this folder before testing and/or setting the property:
C:\\Program Files\\InstallAware\\InstallAware 6\\interop\\templates
(It might be a differentf folder on your system)

unfortunately copying the AVI to the directory you suggest Michaell didn't work. Still getting Invalid Property Value.
I'll try playing with the AVI file settings when I get a chance to see if that fixes it.

You are just typing the AVI name, and no path, right?
I guess Jim's direction is the way to go on this one.

Yeah, just the name. I tried the absolute path once but that didn't work..
