InstallAware

Whenever I create a CD/ DVD version build, a file Uncrom~/data gets accessed from the machine where the build was created.
This creates problem if a user tries the build to uninstall from home.
We get the ERROR(Attached is the snapshot)
Please can anyone tell how to overcome this when creating a CD/DVD version build.

This does not come when I create a Single exe build.

But I always need a CD/DVD version build. Pls help

For what I see your error seems caused by the Network path you are using and not by the InstallAware build.

Honestly, I have also tried to build a CD image from an IA generated CD layout ... and works fine.

Well The users directly execute the installation exe from the server machine, instead of copying the whole cd/dvd version, that is why we see the network.

But my question is why does when we Uninstall we still get the dependency on the network ???

honestly, I just tried to replicate your issue and even using a Network path to install a CD build package, it uninstalls correctly.

I really don't know what could cause the behaviour you seem to have.

Well install from network and disconnect the network when you uninstall.
You will get this error.

I have just tested removing completely any network connection before uninstalling and the uninstall process completes correctly.

If you are able to replicate your issue with a very minimal project, post it and I will have a look.

With a small project it works fine.
I would like to know the cause of this issue and fix this for our project.

Can you please provide some tips to find the cause for these kinda issues.
I searched in the forum, many people had these issues. But none had a satisfactory ans/fix.

honestly, I do not see if there is a relation with the problem you seem to have and the forum topics you are referring to.
