proxy problems

Hi.

I’m having trouble getting the proxy support working. I’m trying to install a web-based setup (XP w/ Internet Explorer 6 on a vmware image) and I am using IA 6.0. I’ve configured my IE LAN Settings to point to an ISA proxy server and port (no other LAN settings are set; e.g. neither the auto config stuff nor the bypass proxy server check box are set). And as far as I understand it, no other corporate proxy stuff is getting in the way. When I browse, IE does popup an authentication dialog and will let me through -- as expected. When I attempt to install my test setup, I get the “Retry Download?” error. From Internet Explorer, I can access the .7zip web file and download it. When I turn off the IE proxy server settings, the setup works.

Any ideas why this doesn’t work for me? Does IA have any problems with ISA? (sorry, I’m not very fluent in proxy situations).

InstallAware uses the same download engine as IE, and as long as IE has been correctly configured, unless something really esoteric is going on, proxies will seamlessly work. We've had clients in locked down corporate environments with proxies who haven't had any problems.
