I always get this error anytime i do a "compressed web based-exe":
Compressing install: OFFLINE\\IFUNNSISANCENGTOFIEERFAETRFFFF0\\license.rtf (100%)
Error during build: Unable to build setup files: Please restart IDE
i even tried creating a new default project and i still got the error. anyone know how to fix this?

How much free memory do you have on your build system?
Please try lowering the compression strength (choose something closer to none, and far away from best, for instance) - and see if that helps.

I get this quite often, and have to shutdown Visual Studio.Net which is running. It does seem to be memory related, but there should be bags of it left.

Yes, Best does have very large memory requirements. Good still offers very close compression - if not identical - in most cases.
No kidding - BIG memory requirements!

FYI - I, too, have experienced this same thing today (I am a new user). I'm running InstallAware 2005 and I have a P4 3+Ghz with over 1GB of free memory (2GB total), and can't even select the best compression level. But the next lowest level still does pretty good. I can't imagine the powerhouse machine needed to use best compression level.

Yes, unfortunately the algorithm does currently attempt to allocate more memory than it needs in some cases - not to worry though, we have already addressed this issue in the upcoming service pack.

Hi,
I am also testing InstallAware and having a system with 2GB memory keep getting this same error: Error during build: Unable to build setup files: Please restart IDE.
This is very annoying and may suggest some kind of inestability of your product. So far I like what I've seen, speciall coming from Wise Installation and not really wanted to get into InstallShield.
When will this Service Pack be ready?
Thanks!

Very soon, our licensed users are already receiving copies of the betas.
In the meantime the stop-gap solution will be to lower your compression to Good, down from Best.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Sinan,
Thanks for the quick response, I'll keep testing.
