EV Code Sign support

Hi - we're looking to move from Advanced Installer, but have hit a brick wall with InstallAware.

Whilst we like the product, it doesn't seem to support our Code Signing method. We use an EV Code Sign cert from Globalsign, (one of the ones where you have a USB dongle instead of a cert pair).

It seems that InstallAware doesn't support EV signing, unless I am missing a trick. I found some reference to using a post-build script to do it, but this doesn't work in the Express edition, which is the version we would want.

Is there a reason for this? I was lead to believe that EV is the preferred means of code signing for Windows 10, and is the only way to sign Windows 10 driver packages, so why is not supported? Visual Studio and our current Installer software both support EV certificates.

Kind regards
Ross

Dear Ross,

unfortunately EV certificates are currently not supported ...I'll double check this anyway, but I am quite sure it's in this way.

You may use the following workaround (probably it's very similar to the one you already tried), but at any rate, you cannot launch the process via Post Build Event using Express edition.

Anyway, I'll send a note to our dev team in order to have EV certificates support with next IA versions.

Hope this helps you.
