Dialog editor

Postby seanmckenna » Tue Aug 22, 2006 1:36 pm

Hello,

I am comparing the different versions and have a question.

The Developer version does not have the Dialog editor, so does this mean that I would be unable to change the Images?

Can I change the image any way other than editing each dialog and loading a new file?

Thanks

Hi Sean,

You do need the dialog editor, and hence the Studio edition, if you would like to update the dialog images. While dialog text can be changed using the Localization Wizard (even for setups that you do not wish to localize, you can still use this wizard to update dialog text), images may only be updated using the dialog editor.

Since nothing is hard-coded in our setup dialogs (you can add/remove images, text, etc. freely; and completely customize the layout as seen from the various existing themes), it is not possible to programmatically determine which images on a dialog are for the wizards and which are other thematic content. This is why you need to use the dialog editor.

Great, thanks for clearing that up!
