When I put a variable in a text box and taht variable contains an empty string, instead of removing the variable from the text, it displays $VARNAME$. How do i make it display an empty string instead of the name of the variable?

Indeed, this appears to be a bug. Thank you for reporting it!

A temporary workaround could be to leave the text box empty, but still setting it to write to the variable. Or, to set the variable value to space.
