Hi,

I'm trying InstallAWare to get rid of InstallShield :-)

Looks quite well, but a killer criteria is NLS. I have currentlx to support 22 languages which are all covered by the 34 languages that IAW claims tio support. Only thing: I can't see ANY translated strings.
As I understood, IAW supports 34 languages with the standard dialogs/texts out of the box and any firther customized strings must be translated.

How do I activate the translated dialogs/texts?? The multilanguage example doesn't real help.

Or does every customer have to translate on it's own?
This is a killer criteria!! Even NSIS supports pre-translated dialogs/strings.

Regards Axel

Hi Axel,

InstallAware supports 34 languages, but does not provide any pre-localized strings for you at this time. Part of this is due to the fact that the setup theme you choose, your MSIcode script, your runtimes, and other variables make it very hard to provide out-of-the-box localization support - as it is hard to define what a "generic" setup project would be like.

We continue to work to improve our localization support to include pre-translated templates, in the meantime you can use the Localization Wizard to localize your strings. This shouldn't take more than 30 minutes per language, but I can understand with 22 languages you need to support, might become a hassle.
