Hi,

Based on the FAQ [http://www.installaware.com/installaware_faq.ppt]

No additional licenses are required for build machines with the purchase of a Studio or Studio Admin edition
In page 31, under Licensing Options, can you elaborate on the "additional licenses"?? What are they?? I have a small team of developers, i supposed i'll need 1 license each (unless i choose floating license), right??

The Competitive Upgrade sounds interesting. Currently, i'm using InstallShield DS9. Am i eligible for the upgrade?? And also what happens after i submit my license key?? I'm kinda worry that my existing projects might be affected if my DS9 gets crippled or something. I still have some maintenance projects to do.

Hello,

If you have multiple developers using the InstallAware IDE all at once, you need a license for each developer. Volume purchase discounts are available and automatically applied at the online store.

If you have multiple developers who will use the InstallAware IDE but not simultaneously - that is, you will install the IDE on multiple computers but it won't be open on more than one computer at the same time - then you can get the floating license option to save money, instead of getting multiple licenses for each individual developer.

If you have only one machine where the IDE will be used, but you will have multiple machines where you will be doing installer builds from (without running the IDE at any time on them), you don't need to get a floating license or multiple licenses with InstallAware Studio or higher. This comes for free - you can install on as many build machines as you want, provided that the IDE is never launched on them, and that your InstallAware edition is Studio or Studio Admin.

You qualify for the competitive upgrade and your existing InstallShield projects and InstallShield product will not be harmed.
