Web Update

Postby joakes » Wed Feb 27, 2008 11:25 am

There is a similar post in tech support by another user that has gone unanswered for over one year. As a pre-sales evaluation, that seriously concerns me.

Anyway, my question is:

I've created an installer (v3.0.0)
Installed on a test machine
Created a backup for reference purposes.
Created a patch, and web update. (v3.0.1)
Copied all files to web server.

Update is found, downloaded, and installs.

However, the EXE (and other changed DLLs) are not updated.
When I run the EXE I'm still using the v3.0.0 release.

Why would this occur?

Please do not post in the pre-sales forum for non-sales related questions. This sounds like technical support.

This is a pre-sales technical support question. We are evaluating your software before purchase.

Secondly, the poor guy who posted a similar question in the tech support area over one year ago has yet to be answered.

Any ideas?

Please review our support policy page. As described there:

InstallAware provides support for all users evaluating the current version of InstallAware (all editions) and Setup Squeezer software without charge. InstallAware does not provide service level guarantees for basic support. Furthermore, issues will be resolved if you as a setup developer provide InstallAware with all information requested (including error logs, screen captures, or sample projects that demonstrate the problem behavior) so that InstallAware can effectively troubleshoot and duplicate the incident as you are seeing it.

Your question is still in the wrong forum.

I haven't been asked for any of the information your quote references.

I'll be happy to relocate my post to the technical support forum. I hope I'll have better luck than the guy who posted the same question a year ago.

A response that actually assisted in finding a solution to the problem would have been far more productive than these last couple of posts.

I've been trying to kindly explain to you that there is no way for us to tell what might be going wrong from the extremely limited information you have provided. That, and your post is in the wrong forum. Sorry.
