IA7 on IIS5.1

Postby jps » Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:11 pm

Does IA7 support IIS5.1?

I just ran "Creating IIS Websites and Virtual Folders Example" on my xp, it asked for IIS6+. I altered it to IIS5.1+.
Then ran it again to create a "MYVD" under "Default Web Site".

then I came to IIS to check if everything worked as expected.
I did see "MYVD" under "Default Web Site", but it didn't look like a VD (the icon in the front was not a VD icon), I looked at the property, found the application name was empty (well, there seems nowhere to specify app name in IA), clicking "create" to create an app name, then the icon of "MYVD" changed to the standard VD icon.

did I do anything wrong?

Thx

There are some limitations in IIS 5.x. Read them up in your IIS documentation.

IA will do what its told on your target platform to the maximum of its capacity. The sample requires IIS 6 for features to work (the minimum IIS version is not an artificial limitation in the sample).

after playing a while, I noticed IA does support "Application name", and after specifying an app name, it creates a VD as expected.
