Creating a Virtual Directory in the Default Website

Postby rocco » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:26 am

Hi

I require some information/instructions on how InstallAware can create a Virtual Directory/Folder under the default installed website.

I have tried using index 1 and also the name 'Default Web Site' but neither work. Using and index doesn't create the virtual directory, and using the name 'Default Web Site' resets the websites path to empty. Additionally, the default website name on the target machine may have been renamed so not the ideal solution.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

hi,

I don´t know if your issue is already solved , but ....

... normally it should work with the "Server Configuration"->"IIS Sites" , nevertheless you can write your own dialog to get a list with all sites.

~InstallAware Clipboard Data~
~Get IIS Site List~
~{C78E005C-722A-416F-B164-E351FBDF96B4}~
~AVAILABLEWEBSITES~

With the "Get IIS Site List" from the toolbox "System Information" you can receive all sites on your machine. You should fill a combobox with it and choose one. Google for iisweb.vbs or iisvdir.vbs and you should find a way to create folder via command line calls.

I hope this may help you,
cheers
