How to (auto) choose one of the .NET frameworks on install

Postby HonzaF » Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:30 am

Hello,
I am evaluating your software and I have some questions to ask:

Our .NET application can run on more frameworks. I need a way to detect if any of the supported .NET frameworks is installed
and then decide whether install only the application or some framework as well.

e.q.:
- on clean windows XP install .net 4.0 and the application
- on Windows Vista (or Windows 7) the .net 3.5 is present, so I wan to install only the application

Is this possible with InstallAware and which version I will need?

Thank you, Honza Filipsky

Hi,

It is possible - it will require some custom MSIcoding, and will therefore require the Developer edition or later.
