Hello, I'm an absolute newbie playing with Installaware Express for the first time today.
I used the Java Setup template to wrap a single java class file.
All seemed well and easy until I tried to run the installer.
It said:
"The following java requirements must be processed before starting setup:
Java Platform, Standard Edition 6, Update 25"
I clicked "Next"
A popup said
"A newer version of Java is already installed"
I clicked "OK"
A popup said
"Java Platform, Standard Edition 6, Update 25 installation has failed,
Fatal error during installation
Test1 setup cannot continue."
I click "OK" and the installation has stopped.
Suddenly things don't look so simple any more and I have no clue where to go from here.
Any help would be appreciated.
We really want to buy your product to install a java program as a service, but I need to see it working first
Thanks

Re: Crash when installing Java
Dear Steve,
the templete you used by default tries to install Java runtime Standard Edition 6, Update 25.
If this is not found (the verification is done by reading a System Reg Key), the installer executes the runtime installation.
Anyway seems in your case, that the setup tries to install the runtime even with a newer version is already present.
In order to verify correctly your issue,
- which is the runtime version already installed on your target machine (if any)?
- which OS are you using to test the package?
Let me know.
Regards

Re: Crash when installing Java
Dear Steve,
I have tried to download the java runtime version you are using to execute a test, but I found problem trying to register on Oracle site.
Is it possible for you to send me the runtime package version (Java 6 Standard Edition Update 27 ) you used?
If you prefer you can sent it by email at: support@installaware.com
Once received I can try to give you a sample project.
Let me know.
Regards
