Hi Ian,

Just run both setups silently. The command line parameters to specify silent installation and setup passwords are well documented in the help file. Since InstallAware installs using itself, you can just go ahead and use those same parameters!

Variable to select installation type

Can you tell me the variable to select which installation type, please? I need to specify Studio instead of Studio Admin. I've tried running a logged install, but it's just hung in Windows Installer (it's been running about 4 hours so far...)

Also, is there any way of controlling the components selected? For this sort of scenario, it would be good to be able to run an installation and capture the responses, and then do the silent install passing in the saved responses (as you can do with Windows).

Thanks,

Ian

Say

Code: Select all

setup.exe /s EDITION=Studio COMPLETE=TRUE MINIMUM=FALSE PERSONALIZED=FALSE ALLUSERS=TRUE "TARGETDIR=C:\\program files\\your path"
something like that.

That did the trick - thanks!
