This "should" be fixed:
http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewt ... 66&start=0

I installed IA 9 R2 SP3 on a clean system and the key did not appear as a result of installing. The key exists on my main machine. I modified it, so I'll try to keep an eye on this to see if I notice when it changes to 10000.

However, it would be helpful if you would be able to identify what causes the key to change.

I had installed IA 9.0 last year, it added the key. I uninstalled IA 9, removed the key, reinstalled IA 8. Yesterday, I installed IA 9 R2 SP3 over IA 8, with a freshly generated license file. I checked the registry, and the key was back. Is there some piece of IA 9 that does periodic checks for updates? Would that install the key?

I'm not sure about any "silent updates" but I'll see what I can find.

Today I ran these trials:

[On Windows without IA previously installed]

Installing IA Studio 9 R2 SP3. No key.

Installed license. No key.

Run a basic installer that schedules updates. No key.

So, at least we have eliminated these as possibilities.

I came across this in the IA help file (F1):

MYAH_TIMEOUT: Indicates how many seconds InstallAware should wait for web downloads before concluding that the remote server is not responding and aborting the connection. Initially 10 seconds. If set to a non-numeric value, the initial value of 10 seconds will be assumed. This value is stored in the system registry and may affect other applications using the Internet Explorer download engine. InstallAware updates this shared registry value only during the time of an actual download and restores the former registry value after completing the download. The standard registry value is typically 3600 seconds or 60 minutes, which is a very long timeout delay and may unnecessarily stall your setups. However, you may still prevent InstallAware from changing this value at all by setting the variable to 0 before calling any script commands that may initiate a download.

It looks like this is causing the registry write. Since it should restore the default value after the download, let us know if that's not the case. Of course, I can see times when debugging that it wouldn't revert back properly.

This doesn't work, do you Set Environment Variable in the MSICode or what?

I have Moya installed, this is just unacceptable...
