Hello,
I am having the same problem on Windows 7 x64. Get the uxtheme.dll access violation on launching as a trial or after the installation of my license. Setting the display to Windows Classic makes the error go away.

Mills,
Access violation error is still here only with replacing files "miaui.exe" and "pgplwiz.exe"
I changed windows theme into "Windows7 Basic", then the error is still here.
However, the error dissapears in widows theme "Classic".
Thanks

This was the result of some Aero (Glass) changes in the code. I guess the cat's out of the bag on what new feature is coming next
These changes have been rolled back and we'll have a new update soon. Licensed customers may already regenerate and re-install their licenses for the fix, but for all the other tools that are affected, a full reinstall is necessary.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience!

My version of uxtheme.dll: 6.1.7600.16385 and there are 2 version, one on system32, the other on syswow64. The version string is the same.
Using BASIC Windows 7 theme change nothing.
Apply the patch solve only in the group policy dialog but not in the new project dialog.
Please fix the bug.
Thank you
Bye.
