Hi,

I'd like to know if there is a way to give the user the possibility to set a check box to create the following shortcuts to an installed executable: Desktop, Quick Launch and Start menu.
I'm new to the program so i don't know how to do a lot of stuff yet, so I'm hoping someone could help me.

Regards,
Max

P.S.
I added a picture of what I'd like the dialog to look like.

Please read the MSDN Magazine article, accessible from our home page. It contains a step-by-step guide on how to do this.

Yes - you can do this. Check out our IA installers via the signature link below.

You will need to create your own dialog with the various checkboxes and then hand back the checked/unchecked status to the MSIcode.

Inside the MSIcode you can then conditionally create the shortcuts. For example (in MSIcode):

Get Folder Location System->Desktop Directory into DESKTOPDIR
if Variable CREATEDESKTOPICON Equals TRUE
Create Shortcut $DESKTOPDIR$\\Link to $TARGETDIR$\\your.exe
end
