How does \"repair\" work?

I created an installation and ran it on a clean machine. Then I manually deleted some of the installed files, and ran the install again. I got the option repair/modify/remove. I repaired. It did not replace the files that I had manually removed. So, what does repair do? And how can I make it do what I wanted?

I think repair should run the same installation procedure once again, using the same parameters originally provided by the user, repairing deleted files, registry keys, etc.

What sort of project build did you do?

Hi Neillans,

In my case, it's an Uncompressed build. Does this have something to do with the behaviour of the repair option?

By the way, there's a related topic in which my last post has not been answered yet: http://www.installaware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3101
Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm - should work fine. Can you open a support ticket and submit your project so I can investigate this?

So... any clues?

I have debugged my application and as far as I can see, everything is in accordance to the whitepaper provided in your website (http://www.installaware.com/msicode_scr ... nology.pdf).
I can't understand why my installer is still missing this feature.

Can anybody help me? :(
