Hi,

I used the Group Policy Wizard to create a MSI out of my setup.

The exe had version information (Properties->Version) which now aren't there anymore since msis don't have that kind of information.

But I wondered if it is possible with the Group Policy Wizard to put some of this information in the file info (Properties->File Info).

Thanks in advance.

That information is included inside the MSI file itself. As you should know, an MSI file contains an installation database, the database contains a table Property; that table contains a field ProductVersion. The ProductVersion field contains the actual version of the product. Windows doesn't extract that info from the file to include it in its properties.

Thanks fo the comment.

Well I know that "Properties->File Info" is editable manually or through programs but what I really would like to know is if there's an automated way in Installware/Group Policy Wizard to set this according to the version information of the MSI without me having to do another step after I created the setup.

Well,

In the group policy dialog, there is a display version field. You can spaecify the right version there.
